Housing Referral & Discharge Planning Support

Stable housing supports lasting recovery. Learn how we help clients connect with Baltimore-area shelter, transitional, and affordable resources.

At Lighthouse Behavioral HealthTwenty Street Therapy at 1116 E 20th Street, Baltimore — we offer licensed residential addiction treatment (ASAM Levels 3.1, 3.3, and 3.5). We provide structured clinical care and temporary housing during treatment. We do not operate standalone permanent housing programs, and we cannot guarantee placement with any community provider.

Why housing matters

We recognize that housing instability can be a barrier to health and recovery. Stable housing supports treatment engagement, safety after discharge, and reduced cycles through crisis systems. Research and national partners continue to highlight housing as part of holistic behavioral health care.

What we do

  • Identify housing needs during assessment, treatment planning, case management, and discharge planning.
  • Document needs in the clinical record and coordinate referrals when appropriate.
  • Share information on affiliated and non-affiliated community resources — inclusion in our directory is not an endorsement and does not guarantee availability or eligibility.
  • Support applications, appointments, and communication with providers when authorized by the client.

How to get housing referral support

Clients in our residential program can request assistance through their counselor, case manager, program coordinator, or other designated clinical staff. Referring professionals and family members may also contact our office for community resource coordination.

If you need immediate shelter or emergency housing, staff may share information about 2-1-1 Maryland — 24-hour access to housing and social service resources statewide.
